Bangladesh – A Changing Climate

Communities living in the coastal region of Bangladesh are already feeling the effects of climate change.

Farmer’s fields and fresh water supplies have become increasingly saline. A combination of rising sea levels, catastrophic cyclones and tidal surges are killing off the fertile land that this densely populated region of Bangladesh heavily relies on.

The communities are having to adapt to this new reality by changing their farming techniques, educating the younger generation on the environment and exploring alternative livelihoods by using new and innovative methods.
