This video was shot for the Act for Peace Zimbabwe appeal.
Once considered to be the “breadbasket” of Southern Africa, Zimbabwe is now one of the poorest countries in the world, making its rural farming communities particularly vulnerable to climate change and decreasing rainfall.
Desmond, a project assistant with Christian Care, introduces farmers to conservation farming techniques to help them become more food secure.
“I enjoy teaching farmers how to have more food in their households. I like that. I like it more than anything else. I can see the change that is happening in communities. They are doing great. Especially shifting people from poverty to a better position in life.”
