Thailand – Bangkok Coffee Cop

Corporal Naratip Bunhanbud has been a traffic policeman in Bangkok for the past three years but his heart remains in his remote home town, working in his families coffee shop.

Living alone in rundown police accomodation and facing daily confrontations with the public, Naratip or ‘Man’ spends much of his spare time thinking about and communicating with home.

This film highlights the sense of isolation and loneliness people can face when they leave for a new life in the city.

Special thanks to Jiraporn Kuhakan for all the translating and assistance in the making of this film during the Bangkok Video Journalism and Filmmaking Workshop. Also thanks to the volunteers, Raul and Alfonso for their invaluable advice.
